Insurance that works even when you take things out!
A piece of jewellery can often be one of the most personally significant things we own, with a special value that can never truly be calculated. But if the worst was to happen – if it gets lost, stolen or destroyed – CHU Contents Insurance for Strata or Community Association can at least help cover the replacement cost*, even if we can’t replace the memories.
This means, because cover for rings, other jewellery, bikes, mobile phones, electrical equipment and other personal items is included in our contents cover, you don’t need standalone insurance to cover each item. It’s what’s helped make us leaders in personal effects insurance in Australia.
Save on Jewellery Insurance
CHU Contents Insurance for Strata or Community Association covers your jewellery for loss or damage, whether you’re at home or out and about. Our Portable Contents option works even if it’s with you when you’re travelling worldwide for up to 90 consecutive days.
What else should I know?
If you have your receipts keep them in a safe place, otherwise have your jewellery regularly valued by a professional valuer and consider the replacements cost when looking for a quote.
Like most insurance cover, policyholders pay an excess on each claim. If your building is one of the almost 1 million insured with CHU Residential Strata Insurance Plan, then we waive the excess if your strata owner makes a claim for loss or damage caused by the same incident
*How much am I covered for?
The Contents Insurance standard policy limit for jewellery is $2,500 per item, set or pair. The cover limit can be increased above this limit by purchasing the Specified Contents option.
