What if I move house?
The beauty of CHU Contents Insurance is that you can take it with you. Simply take out a 12-month CHU Contents Insurance and notify CHU of your new address when you move. We even cover your goods on move day.
If you live in an apartment, unit, villa or townhouse, your residential strata insurance only covers the building – not your personal belongings. Your possessions must be covered by you.
Contents insurance protects the personal belongings inside your home (like furniture, clothing, jewellery, phones, TVs, computers, internal carpets, blinds, and electrical items and kitchen appliances) from events such as fire, flood, theft, and more.
If your home unit becomes unfit to live in, we will cover reasonable accommodation costs as an added benefit paid in addition to your contents sum insured.

Your CHU Contents Insurance doesn’t just cover your possessions. Legal liability cover is included with your contents cover. CHU will cover you for bodily injury or death and loss or damage to another person’s property with a sum insured of $30M.
How much cover you need will depend on what kind of strata property you own or inhabit and where exactly you live. So the best way to get a realistic idea, while making sure you haven’t overlooked any potential costs, is to head to the CHU Contents Insurance Calculator.
