What if I move house?
The beauty of CHU Contents Insurance is that you can take it with you. Simply take out a 12-month CHU Contents Insurance and notify CHU of your new address when you move. We even cover your goods on move day.
If you live in an apartment, unit, villa or townhouse, your residential strata insurance only covers the building – not your personal belongings. You are responsible for protecting your personal belongings.
Contents insurance protects the personal belongings inside your home (like furniture, clothing, jewellery, phones, TVs, computers, internal carpets, blinds, and electrical items and kitchen appliances) from events such as fire, flood, theft, and more.
If your home unit becomes unfit to live in, we will cover reasonable accommodation costs as an added benefit paid in addition to your contents sum insured.

Choosing the right ‘contents sum insured’ helps avoid underinsurance. The calculator uses basic details to estimate this amount, which you can adjust. Most items are covered on a new-for-old basis.
