Should I consider Contents Insurance if I already have Community Association Insurance?
CHU’s Community Association Insurance Plan covers for accidental loss or damage to community property, such as shared roads, street lighting, communal above and below ground services/utilities, but does not provide cover your personal belongings within your own home. As renter within a home, you must obtain your own insurances should you wish to protect your personal possessions.
Contents insurance protects the personal items in your home – things like furniture, clothing, jewellery, phones, TVs, computers, internal carpets, blinds, and electrical items and kitchen appliances – against events such as fire, flood, theft, and more.
If your home unit becomes unfit to live in, we will cover reasonable accommodation costs as an added benefit paid in addition to your contents sum insured.
