CHU's reflections this International Women's Day
Today is International Women’s Day (IWD). This day allows us to come together to celebrate women's achievements whilst also shining the light on current issues needed to be addressed including the gender pay gap, equal opportunities and combating violence against women. We have come a long way in gender equality, but there is still a lot more to be done.
At CHU Underwriting Agencies Pty Ltd, Diversity and Inclusion is at the heart of who we are and how we do business. We are committed to continually breaking through barriers and improving our practices to ensure that we create an equal future for all.
Some initiatives launched by CHU include:
- Equal Opportunity: Just under 50% of all leadership roles at CHU are held by women.
- Gender Pay Gap: Our average gender pay gap is below the industry. We will continue to undertake this analysis annually and will take action to lead our industry in closing the gap.
- Diversity Council of Australia: CHU is a proud member of the Diversity Council of Australia as part of our ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- Family Inclusive Workplace: CHU is certified as a Family Inclusive Workplace™ by Parents at Work organisation and UNICEF Australia.
- Parental leave: In 2023 we launched 18 weeks of gender neutral Paid Parental Leave to have options to support all family types in Australia.
- Domestic & Family Violence: at the end of 2023 we launched a framework to increase leave and support options for women and men who are impacted by Domestic and Family violence.
We won’t stop here. Our next goal is to formalise our 2024-2025 Diversity & Inclusion strategy.
